WHAT'S INTERESTING ABOUT THIS CONCERT
  • Bay Area native Alexi Kenney returns to lead George Walker’s hauntingly beautiful Lyric for Strings and as the soloist in Vivaldi’s iconic Four Seasons.

  • The all-strings concert concludes with Jessie Montgomery’s Starburst plus Death and the Maiden, a piece that explores the range of human emotions, from dark and heavy to positive and optimistic. Originally written for quartet by Schubert, Mahler blew it up for string orchestra some 70 years later.
