College Notes - An A Cappella Performance Celebrating Bright Minds & Voices 2022
Presented by Kaiser Permanente and Diablo Regional Arts Association
March 11 - 12, 2022

This evening of incredible vocals is sure to inspire you and your family. With award winning a cappella groups from top colleges across the nation, the 5th annual Kaiser Permanente College Notes boasts an incredible level of collegiate talent. Showcasing a wide array of music styles, College Notes is a competition-free performance celebrating bright minds and voices. See below and stay tuned for details about the performing groups (subject to change). If you enjoyed Pitch Perfect, Glee, or The Sing Off, you cannot miss this performance!

Ticket proceeds will go to the Diablo Regional Arts Association's Education & Outreach program.

Running Time: approx. 90 minutes, with no intermission

This benefit performance is presented by Kaiser Permanente and Diablo Regional Arts Association (DRAA). Proceeds benefit DRAA’s Education and Outreach Programs.

Northeastern University’s Nor’easters
The Nor’easters have continuously striven to maintain the highest standards of musicality while still keeping the fun and love alive. They won the International Championship of Collegiate competitions in 2013 and 2017. They were the feature group on the 1st season of PopTV’s docu-series, “Sing It On,” performing with John Legend on The View and traveling to NY, LA and Australia to perform and promote the show. They have become recording powerhouses releasing the first half of their two-part album entitled COLLECTIVE, Vol. II, on iTunes & Spotify.

University of Southern California’s SoCal VoCals
Hailing from sunny Los Angeles, California, the SoCal VoCals are USC's oldest a cappella group, establishing themselves in 1996. Throughout their years they have released eight studio albums, and are quickly working on the next! The VoCals are the reigning champions of the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella, taking first place at the Beacon Theater this April. They also hold the record for most victories in the competition, winning in consecutive attempts in 2008, 2010, and 2012, 2015, and most recently, 2018. They have sung at the Hollywood Bowl, Lincoln Center, and the Staples Center, for such audiences as Chris Martin, Sara Bareilles, and the President and First Lady of the United States. VoCal alumni have been featured on NBC's The Sing-Off and won multiple Grammy Awards. Above all, the VoCals are about to making music and having a good time!

Vanderbilt Melodores
Founded in the spring of 2009 by four students, the Melodores pride themselves in their ability to balance student life at Vanderbilt with extraordinary musical integrity. They have competed in the International Championships of Collegiate A Cappella, in which they placed third in the world at NYC’s Lincoln Center. In 2014, they were selected to be one of six groups to compete in Season 5 of NBC’s hit show The Sing Off, and went on to be the only collegiate champions in the show’s history, taking home a $50,000 cash prize.

UCLA ScatterTones
In 2019, UCLA ScatterTones finished 3rd in the International Championship of Collegiate  A Cappella Finals and have sung alongside Taylor Swift, opened for Pentatonix, and performed for Barack Obama. Alums of the ScatterTones includes a member who played Eliza in Hamilton, a cardio pulmonary specialist, a benefits/tax attorney, and architect.
