You’re invited to celebrate the crowning jewel of the East Bay: Mt. Diablo!!
The Contra Costa Wind Symphony performs its commissioned tribute to our most notable landmark. Premiered by the CCWS in 2002, this piece by Steven Reineke was inspired by the Native American legends surrounding the mountain and by some of its more interesting residents.
Also featured are three other highly elevated musical elections: Julie Giroux’s “K2, The Savage Mountain,” Jake Runestad’s “Rivers of Air,” and John Mackey’s “Hymn to a Blue Hour.”
Running Time: approx. 1 hour 30 minutes, with one intermission
