Mike Amaral grew up in Santa Cruz and San Jose, California. After starting a couple of bands as a youth, he always wanted a Beach Boys band…His favorite music. After an early retirement Mike gathered a couple of cousins and other musicians to begin his longtime dream and founded the six member California Beach Boys band in 2007. The band’s goal from the beginning was to replicate the music just like the originals, therefore giving their audiences a true Beach Boys Experience! “We want the audience members to feel like they’re at a 1960’s Beach Boys Concert, including authentic outfits, equipment and of course those famous harmonies” says Amaral. According to John Zurflueh, their agent for the past six years “They have certainly attained all they set out to do, but continue to improve. Of course, there is no more fun music around; the songs, the energy, audience participation and the standing ovations at packed theatres say it all. You really don’t want to miss this one.”
