Music Direction & Conducted by Matilda Hofman
featuring Celloist Tanya Tomkins
The early Romantic composers Mendelssohn and Schumann were passionate about the music of the Baroque and were among the first composers to start performing the works of times past. Here we combine the fireworks and flare of the ornate Baroque with the world of fantasy and imagination of these two friends from Leipzig. Baroque specialist Tanya Tomkins brings us into the brilliant world of Baroque performance.
George Frideric Handel - Fireworks Music
Leonardo Leo - Cello Concerto in A
Felix Mendelssohn - "Overture for Winds"
Robert Schumann - Symphony No. 4
Running Time: approx. 1 hour 45 mintues, with one intermission
