Presented by Chamber Music San Francisco

In 2017, we are presenting nine concerts in San Francisco.  Only five of these nine concerts will appear on our Walnut Creek subscription series.  We are now offering the other four concerts - which appear in San Francisco only - in a special, low-cost package.

The City Pack costs $150 for four concerts, meaning only $37.50 per concert.  Considering that the regular ticket price for the concerts in SF ranges from $48 to $60, this is an unbeatable deal.  We can't promise this bargain-basement pricing will continue in future years, but we are happy to experiment with it in 2017!
2017 City Pack Schedule:

Augustin Hadelich, violin

Monday, 03/13/17 at 8:00 pm
Gold Medalist of the Indianapolis Violin Competition and now in demand by top orchestras worldwide, Augustin Hadelich is celebrated for his "gorgeous tone" (N.Y. Times) and "fast-fingered brilliance" (The New Yorker).  He will appear with the charismatic pianist Joyce Yang, Silver Medalist at the Van Cliburn Piano Compeition.

Rafal Blechacz, piano
Tuesday, 04/04/17 at 8:00 pm
In 2005, this Polish virtuoso, "one of the pianistic giants of our time" (The Sunday Times), swept the field at the Warsaw Chopin Competition in 2005, winning the Gold and every award possible.  Then, in 2014, he won the $300,000 Gilmore Award.  Blechacz is known for his poetic interpretations infused with sincerity and directness.

Quatuor Danel
Monday, 04/24/17 at 8:00 pm
Known since 1991 for its warm, romantic performances, this French-Belgian group is well established in the major halls of Brussels, Amsterdam, Moscow, Paris, London, Madrid, Vienna, Berlin, Beijing and Tokyo.  Only in the 2015-16 season did it make its North American debut and we are proud to be presenting its first Bay Area appearance.

Brandenburg Concertos
Sunday, 05/14/17 at 3:00pm
These virtuosic, ebullient works reflect one of the happiest and most productive periods in Bach's life, when he was the music director in the small town of Coethen, and they remain enduringly popular.  Our annual tradition of presenting these merry masterpieces continues, featuring the dazzling strong ensemble Archetti.
