A revolution is brewing in the colonies! It's up to John Adams - the outspoken delegate from Massachusetts, Benjamin Franklin of Pennsylvania and Thomas Jefferson of Virginia - to convince a stubborn congress of British colonists to unite as American patriots, channel their freedom-loving spirit and turn the inevitable war with England into a Declaration of Independence. 1776 puts a human face on the pages of history as proud, frightened, uncertain, irritable, charming, often petty and ultimately noble figures determine to do the right thing for a fledgling nation.
