Lesher Center Presents HEADLINERS
Brought to you by Diablo Regional Arts Association
January 22, 2023
Four musicians who are deeply interested in the music of Bill Monroe, the Father of Bluegrass, as well as the music of J. S. Bach. Some pieces tend more towards the former (Monroe's music is featured in the set), and some tend more towards the latter. But most of the pieces reside in a meeting place, or a middle ground, that reveals what these beautiful kinds of music have in common.
Despite their shared musical history and appearances in various combinations, these four players have never appeared in this exact formation. These shows present a unique opportunity to hear them. Their musical activities as individuals are wide-ranging, encompassing solo performances in front of orchestras, recording with Nashville's elite session musicians, collaboration with brilliant Brazilian musicians, and much more. Yet, they speak a common musical language, and thirty years of friendship doesn't hurt to bring them together for a sure-to-be-memorable evening.
Running Time: approx 2 hours, with one intermission
