Jerald Stroughter, Sr. was born in Chicago and moved to San Francisco as a young child. Jerald loved music and taught himself to play drums as a child. In high school, Jerald studied music theory and played in the school band. At 16, he became a professional drummer playing in the jazz circuit traveling up and down the West Coast. By 20, Jerald began traveling with gospel bands playing drums and singing. Jerald has spent time working in the Theater as a drummer. He began producing, writing, and recording in the Bay Area. Jerald has traveled with R&B bands on the casino circuit and local Bay Area bands to refine his smooth tenor and baritone vocals. The Touch of Velvet provides Jerald the opportunity to showcase his entertainment experience into a high energy show.

Opener Phil Johnson
Phil Johnson has an action packed show filled with his two loves, comedy and music. It’s a show filled with sharp unexpected turns, sneak attack jokes, and hilarious songs that doesn’t shy away from controversial territory… race, sex, religion, and doughnuts – so many doughnuts – all delivered from the viewpoint of a guy who happily grew up in the deeply multi-everything community of the San Francisco Bay Area. Phil has been seen and heard at the Sundance Film Festival, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, on Sirius/XM and Bob and Tom radio, and on Amazon Prime. He’s also released multiple comedy specials and albums filled with his colorful, tightly-written comedy.
