Presented by Diablo Symphony Orchestra
Music Director & Conductor: Matilda Hofman
October 14, 2018

On the 100th anniversary of Lili Boulanger’s death, this program celebrates the powerful impact that Lili and her sister Nadia had on the musical world, both through Lili’s compositions in her short lifetime and the inspiration of Nadia’s teaching of virtually every important twentieth-century composer. Here we celebrate Lili’s music and some of the composers the sisters inspired.

Fauré – Pavane
Boulanger – D’un soir triste / D’un matin de printemps
Debussy – Première rhapsodie for clarinet and orchestra
Honegger – Pastorale d’été
Copland – Four Dance Episodes from Rodeo
    Clarinet: Ann Lavin

Running Time: approx. 2 hours 15 minutes, with one intermission
