Hailed by The Wall Street Journal as one of the “most versatile and imposing musicians of her generation,” Bria Skonberg was recognized in summer 2016 as one of “25 for the Future” by DownBeat magazine and Vanity Fair has cited her as a Millennial “Shaking Up the Jazz World.” Winning a 2017 Juno Award for “Vocal Jazz Album of The Year” for her recording Bria as well as “Best Vocal” and “Best Trumpet” awards from Hot House Jazz Magazine (2014-15), Skonberg is quickly making a name for herself having performed at some 100 festivals worldwide. On her latest Sony Masterworks album, With A Twist, Skonberg spins her cool and confident vocal style---and her sleek and timeless jazz chops---into a program that playfully nods to tradition while always looking ahead. Original member of the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra (1995-2000) and veteran member of the Wynton Marsalis Septet (1989-1995), trombonist Wycliffe Gordon performs with Bria Skonberg and her band.
